Authentic South — Full Day South Island Tour
After breakfast, drive to Curepipe and visit a traditional ship-making factory. Take in the scenic town of Curepipe and its surroundings from the extinct crater of Trou aux Cerfs. In the afternoon, drive through the nature park of Black River and Plaine Champagne to Chamarel village.
Stop at Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao), the sacred lake, and view the stunning 108-foot statue of Mangal Mahadev. Visit Chamarel, the unusual seven coloured earth created by volcanic rocks, where the earth forms beautiful patterns of colour across the exposed hillsides. See the startlingly beautiful Chamarel waterfalls, which emerge from the moors and primeval vegetation and tumble from a height of about 83 metres, before driving back to your hotel.
