The lodge lies in the North Eastern part of Costa Rica's Caribbean coast in Tortuguero Limón on a sand bank between the Tortuguero Canals and the Caribbean ocean. It offers guests perfect access to the unspoilt beach and the channels. The hotel building may only be reached by boat or by plane. With constant renovations, the Lodge building houses a total of 50 standard rooms and 6 superior rooms, situated on 6 hectares of grounds, offering unique views of the lagoon and the channels. The attractive gardens and the rustic fittings mix with the lush vegetation of the rainforest, with its exotic birds and wildlife. The lodge's facilities include souvenir shop, cafeteria, the Mawamba Park (with frog and butterfly gardens) restaurant, swimming pool, manicured gardens, bar, day and night tours, and beach access (beach is not suitable for swimming) The homely standard rooms are situated in wood-covered modules of four, and come with their own bathroom with shower and hot, running water. Furthermore, guests may enjoy ceiling fans, a king sized bed, or a double and a single bed. For families, the Lodge offers 08 rooms with two queen sized beds. Each room has a balcony with a divine view over the garden. The larger superior rooms are perfect for honeymoon couples who seek more privacy, ample accomodations and a king sized bed (no children in superior room facilities) The garden complex features a swimming pool, bar and lounge with direct access to the Red Eyed Tree frog garden. The Lodge features two restaurants and a cafeteria. The Lodge's buffet restaurant for included meals, and the Katonga floating restaurant for those who'd like to book a wonderful experience on board for breakfast, lunch or dinner, while crusing the Tortuguero Canals (not included in package).
